This Little Light of Mine

15 02 2010

This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine
This little light of mine
I’m gonna let it shine,
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
Won’t let Satan blow it off
I’m gonna let it shine
Won’t let Satan blow it off
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
Let it shine till Jesus comes
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine till Jesus comes
I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine
With this light,
Hearts will turn to You O Lord
With this light,
Eyes be opened to Your majesty
With this light,
The lost and searching will be found in You…

Aspirers Vision

5 01 2010

WE THE ASPIRERS
Aware of the temptations and pressures of the world
Not conforming to the standards thereof
Committed to living a life of integrity
Choose to stand up and make a difference in our spheres of influence
To be sold out for Christ Jesus
To be a generation that will rise up in faith above the circumstances
To move forward as a people of prayer and of power
As ambassadors of Christ
To reach our generation
For the glory of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
Amen

Updates!

23 03 2009

Omgosh, it’s been too long since I updated the blog. TOOOOO LONG!!!! hehehe. sry la, been really busy with things and more things >.< (I’m quite surprised just how busy I am.. ah well)

This post is going to be a little one sided if you don’t mind. =D but it’s not all about me, it’s about the Aspirers!

Okay, updates right. So for the past month, the month of March, Aspirers has been doing a bible study/Inspire session thing called ‘Knowing God’s Will’ – I dunno bout you, but I’m glad I went. (And all those who agree, say AMEN!) I’ll post pictures of that when I find it =D (This is the problem of having so many cameras in Aspirers! ahahah!

Okay so this blog, I’m going to post about, well, God. Last Saturday, as in the past one, where we had foundation classes, I went to church a little more, confused that usual… I went to church, seeking for an answer. What my question was, I wasn’t sure.

I was there, not really wanting to take part in much, and during the first few songs, I didn’t really feel anything.  I had this idea, to capture something, anything, that I could bring back, any part of God’s presence. In turn, what I saw, rather than felt (at first) was so strong.

When the first worship song first started, I didn’t feel it, I couldn’t. But others did, and so I took pictures. Pictures of people worshiping, surendering to God. If you stand back and watch, it reall is a beautiful, wonderful awesome sight. To see you all just worship God with your hearts! There’s no way anyone could capture the full effect of God’s presence in pictures or videos, in songs or poetry. We could try and explain and show a little, but not the real thing. The more I stood back and watched, the more I was touched. The songs were not affecting me, you all. The Aspirers, were touching my heart. Towards the end of the worship, Derrick went up and told us his humbling experience. That him, being in front of us and to say that he was nothing, was a humbling feeling. I vaguely remember exactly what he said, but I remember the look on his face, some others of you may too. I thank God for you all, who worship sincerely and are able to help others feel God’s presence, simply by worshipping.

Here are some pictures that I captured.

Also, I caught a video of the worship session and am uploading on YouTube, about now. Will link soon. Along side with the worship video, I’m deciding to upload Jian/Ian testimony and shall be trying to upload testimonies from now on. (Maybe I should create a YouTube account for Aspirers.. hmmm…)

Expect! 09

24 02 2009

Well now, it’s been over a week since we got back and I’m still not sure how to write this blog without it getting personal.

I believe we’ve all been blessed by this camp (those who went anyway) and I think the best way for anyone to know what happened in the camp, is to talk to the people, or from the people themselves. So, I’m going to LINK you. =) Good idea right? Lol…..

Ouh also, I do believe we all enjoyed this song very much…

COUNTING ON GOD

VERSE 1
I’m in a fight not physical
And I’m in a war
But not with this world
You are the light that’s beautiful
And I want more
I want all that’s Yours

PRE-CHORUS
Joy unspeakable that won’t go away
And just enough strength
To live for today
So I never have to worry
What tomorrow will bring
‘Cause my faith is on solid rock
I am counting on God

CHORUS
I am counting on
I am counting on God

BRIDGE
The miracle of Christ in me
Is the mystery that sets me free
I’m nothing like I used to be
Open up your eyes you’ll see

You Said – Hillsong

16 02 2009

We’re all back from camp. Exhausted, sick and plain sleepy, there’s still something that remains the same in all 70+ of us.

We LOVE the camp. I don’t know bout EVERYONE, but I know a majority of us FELT God’s presence at that camp. He was really strong. Our camp theme was expect, and Pastor Julie Khoo really showed us how to Expect. I know I speak for everyone when I say this, “Pastor, thank you for coming. We were all absolutely blessed and we love you, you have a heart of gold too. =) You’re awesome and you rock!”

Till I get more pictures together, I won’t really mention much about camp. But when I do, I’m gonna run through it part by part.

For now, enjoy these lyrics…

You Said – Hillsong

You said, Ask and you will receive
Whatever you need
You said, Pray and I’ll hear from heaven
And I’ll heal your land

You said Your glory will fill the earth
Like water the sea
You said, Lift up your eyes
The harvest is here, the kingdom is near

You said, Ask and I’ll give the nations to you
O Lord, that’s the cry of my heart
Distant shores and the islands will see
Your light, as it rises on us

O Lord, I ask for the nations (repeat)
